1. After our first home study interview we were asked to see a licensed marriage and family counselor. The social worker wanted the counselor to evaluate our readiness to be good parents to a child who was not born from us by taking a look at our communication, conflict resolution skills, methods of dealing with frustration, and dynamics of control in your relationship (all areas that have been issues in the past).
2. We just completed three sessions with a great Christian counselor who also specializes in adoption. The only disadvantage was it held us up 6 weeks! After the counselor writes his approval letter, which he estimated to happen this weekend, then we'll hopefully be able to continue meeting with our social worker. We will at least have two more meetings with her- one being at our house.
3. Our overall timeline is looking like we have about a year from today or longer. When we started the process we thought we might be able to bring home our baby Fall '10 or Winter '10/'11, but now it's more likely Spring or Summer '11. This is weighing super heavy on Isaac and I right now, so please pray for us.
But as we wait, we're keeping busy and having fun with friends and family. Two weekends ago we had a great time in Tulsa spending time with our college friends (see pics below), my friend Kendall, and Isaac's family.

Oh, how we join you in the aching of waiting. We know it is all in God's perfect timing, but it is hard to know it's a long year ahead. It will all be worth it when we're there though!
We join you also in prayer for this process and for our little ones who are waiting too long as well. And, we are SO VERY thankful to have you two alongside us. :) (Maybe God delayed your road, because He knew we needed you with us!! Sorry about that! ;) )
So glad to hear the update and I hope that things pick up speed now for you!! Keep us posted...
