6 Months Old

Baby Boy!

Today you are 6 months old… and as precious as ever!

You might perhaps get confused on what your name is at this young age because we call you all sorts of silly things like “Bubba Boo”, “Zaner”, “Zane man”, “Pumpkin”, and “Scooby Do” just to name a few.   Your Jja Jas in Uganda continue to call you “Moses” and they still refer to me as “Mum Moses” which I love to be called.

Speaking of your Jja Jas… I just talked to them on the phone yesterday during your nap.  They send their love to you from afar.  They are always anxious to hear how we’re all doing.  I told them you seem like you’re really enjoying the US and that you’re unbelievably loved by so many people here.  They reported that everyone in the family there was doing well.

We learned yesterday at your 6 month check up you are 19 pounds 6 ounces and 28” long.   You’re a healthy, strong, big boy and somewhere around the 75th percentile in weight and 95th percentile in height for your age.

You’re now rolling over, twisting around on the floor, lifting yourself up with stiff arms, standing up really straight on your feet and exploring our faces.  You continue to be very verbal and you like to put everything in your mouth.  Your favorite activity continues to be time in your jump-a-roo.  We joke that you are “river dancing” while in it because of the way you point and cross your feet- it’s adorable!  You’re almost sitting up, and you’ll probably be ready for baby food soon.  We’ve tried avocado and banana a few times but you’re not interested at this point.

You are such a happy, easy-going baby (and I’m so grateful… but I’d love you even if you weren’t)!   A lot of people ask me, “Is he always this chill?”  Yep, pretty much!

We’ve had an unbelievably great month of being 5 months old!  Some of the highlights were:

-Visiting your great grandparents, Mammy and Pappy, in Houston for the first time

-Celebrating the 4th of July around the pool with the Walthall/Healey clan

-Attending 3 Cool Thursday concerts at the Dallas Arboretum

-Attending Sophia’s 1st birthday party

-Spending the weekend in Tulsa with our families and attending your sip-n-see shower

-Meeting all our Tulsa friends and family for the first time, including your cousins Anna and Alyssa

Your dad and I are completely IN LOVE with you!  We are amazed and so grateful God trusted us with you!

Love,
Your Mom (and Dad)
