Discouraging News

As most of you know already, we've recently received some discouraging adoption news.  When (and if) we get an approval there is now an additional letter that states that they will leave the file open to receive a match for 6 months (from the approval date).  After 6 months if their is not a child that matches our request (girl or boy under 9 months) then our file will be closed.  Supposedly the reason for doing this is because there are not enough available children at the Home of Hope orphanage where they typically adopt from.

From the information we know right now, it's not looking hopeful that they will have a match for our request (healthy boy/girl under 9 months) within the next 6 months due to our position in line.  This is not a closed door at this point, but we feel like it's going to take a miracle.

Please join us in prayer for...

*Wisdom for those in charge of adoption at the Ministry in Rwanda.  They’ve had some recent job transitions including a new head Minister of Gender and Family Promotion.  Pray for a smooth transition and clear direction on the best ways to place orphaned children into families.  Also for wisdom as they make decisions about adoption.

*The children in other orphanages across Rwanda. For the necessary paperwork to come into place so these children can be eligible for adoption. UNICEF estimates over a million orphans in Rwanda, but the reality remains that the vast majority do not have the necessary paperwork filed on them to be adopted.  Pray for these children.

*Us and other waiting families to continue to trust in God's faithfulness and goodness.

I'm speechless with what else to say other than this is/has been/will be extremely hard.
