Even though our fingerprint appointment wasn't until July 8th we went in this morning at 8:00 and asked if they could make an exception and take us today. I was nervous when we pulled up at 7:55 and there was a line of about 15 people waiting at the door; however, I've been praying about this and knew there was nothing I could say or do that was going to change God's plan. I was prepping myself as we walked up that if we were rejected it was because of God's perfect timing for us. So here I was, Mrs. Rule Follower, asking to make an exception to the rule to a supervisor that couldn't have looked more mad at the world. He asked what our intention for this were and when we told them we had a baby overseas waiting for us how could he say "no"?!? He responded that they make appointments for a reason because they need to regulate traffic and I responded that I understood. He didn't say anything after that- he just signed the paper and handed it back to us. So, ONLY by God's grace did we have an appointment today! It was quick and painless- we were in and out in about 20 minutes. We are praising God for our successful fingerprint appointment this morning!
We're also praising God for having my family back in the States for the summer! My parents live in Bangkok, Thailand where they lead Bible Study Fellowship during the school year. Caitlin, my little sister who is a Sophomore at Baylor, was in Bangkok visiting my parents when school let out. All three of them flew back and arrived in Dallas on Thursday evening. On Friday we went down to Baylor to look at my sister's new apartment and we had lunch with my uncle and cousins who live in Waco. Friday night Caitlin's boyfriend's family joined us for dinner at Hacienda's since they were on vacation in Dallas for the weekend. Saturday we shopped at
Ikea for Caitlin's apartment before my parents left for Edmond. I'm excited to join up with the family again in Tulsa for Father's Day!

YAY!! SO glad and excite for you guys that you were able to get fingerprinted early. Praying that your I-171H will be processed with lightening speed :)
So exciting. So fun to watch God's hand in this whole process with you guys.
Tara,
I did not know that you all are adopting! I loved reading and catching up through your blog!
I will stop by often to see how things are going!
Take care,
Laura Grunewald
Our appointment is for July 8, I just recieved it in the mail today, I wonder if that would work for us, as Louisville is significantly smaller than Dallas :)
So....what is the likelihood that we could try the same thing with the same man and him not catch on to this whole idea?! Because as you know, we like to follow your lead on ALL things, especially anything rule-breaking. :) SO excited for y'all!!!
Our appointment is next week, but I have been so very tempted to try this! Hope the rest of the process goes just as smoothly for you guys!
